Postgraduate education in India becoming a must to make a career

Postgraduate education in India is becoming more popular every year. There are more than 300 university-level institutions in India which over 17000 colleges affiliated to them. Due to the obligation of meeting the requirements of  the national level statutory bodies established for the maintenance of quality standards in higher education system, universities / institutions offering professional and technical courses in India are recognized worldwide. That is why over 200 of the Fortune 500 companies recruit from Indian campuses regularly.

Indian higher education institutes are divided into four groups – central government regulated universities, state government regulated universities, institutes with standards equivalent to universities’ and inter-university research centres shared by several universities – all of them generally using English as a Medium of teaching. There are universities specialising on medicine, arts and language, journalism, social work, business, commerce, planning, architecture, engineering, etc. Postgraduate education in India usually means taught master’s courses which generally last two and research courses which last three years.

The most popular master’s level course is Master of Business Administration with its common specialisations in human resources management, marketing, finance and information systems. An MBA is a vital course ment to guide how to manage different businesses and their various segments in a competent manner. Today, India has 600 institutes offering programmes in management only. One of the most prestigious institute which branches are all over India is the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs). All management colleges/institutes in India are recognised and regulated by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), a statutory body of Government of India.

Since the options of studying in India are practically unlimited, it is important that a student aspiring a quality education does lots of research before deciding on what to spend his/her money, because this is a very important investment for the future.
