MBA in Banking – a Practical Choice of Studies in India

Nowadays when banks are crashing all over the world due to the economical recession, India is still almost untouched by it and the banking industry here is growing rapidly. That has also boosted India’s image globally. In turn more banks and financial companies will be arising in the coming years and new professionals with MBA in Banking are needed. The Banking revolution is on the horizon, we might say.

Due to the rapid growth in banking industry it is estimated that by the end of year 2010 1,2 million professionals are needed for the industry, but right now there are only 1 million qualified people available which means a lack of two hundred thousand people. That number is estimated to grow up to 7 lacs by 2014 due to the estimated retirement of 5 lacs of banking professionals. But not everyone is suitable for work in the banking sector. Most of these available jobs would be in the managerial divisions and when it comes to the specialised operations; banks always prefer professionals with an MBA.

Banking sector professionals need to have a wide range of skills and knowledge to meet the constantly changing challenges facing the modern financial sector and competitive banking business. An MBA in Banking helps one develop the required skills needed to manage finance, staff and customer requirements, legal aspects, information, international banking etc. It also teaches how these skills combined with theorethical knowledge can be applied in banking and elsewhere in the financial sector.

MBA in Banking is especially valuable for people holding a professional qualification (including a qualification in accounting, finance, or related professions) who are employed in banks or other financial firms.

There are many universities and institutes offering different postgraduate degrees in finance and banking. One should consider all the opportunities before making a decision about which programme and institute to choose. Om Institute of Business & Technology has put together a package with what one can obtain a dual specialised MBA degree – an Indian UGC recognized MBA in Finance or Banking and an internationally recognized MBA in Finance & Banking awarded by Limkokwing University of Creative Technology – all that in just two years with various options like choosing just one or the other MBA programme, studying in India or partially abroad to gain global exposure, saving time and money by getting two degrees in just two years. One also gets a postgraduate diploma from OIBT.

Om Institute of Business & Techonology (OIBT) is a new innovative management institute with branches all over  Gujarat, India which offers undergraduate and postgraduate level pathway programmes for various management and information technology related studies. It is co-operating with well-known and recognised higher education providers all over the world to deliver the best solutions to ambitious Indian youngsters who wish to gain international study experience and degrees, but also keep their options open for making a career in India.

Want to become a successful IT professional? Get an MBA in IT

Information Technology is technology that helps to produce, conduct, store, communicate, and spread information. It is essential for the today’s high-technical world. It said that every day something new is invented related to IT. In 2009 the growing exporting rate of IT products in India was 5.5% from the latest statics. It is expected to increase by 13 to 15% in 2010.

Meanwhile the number of people who can afford to buy computers, cell phones, and televisions appears to be increasing all over the world to a level where all the above mentioned products are becoming or have become something one can find in every home. Therefore due to the development of information technology and easy access to it, accessing all kinds of information has also become much easier for users. We can anticipate even further development in the IT sector in the near future and therefore the increasing need of IT professionals.

IT professionals perform a variety of roles from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases, software design, data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, as well as the management and administration of full systems. Therefore, studying IT is a way to guarantee a financially secure future for yourself.

Having a master’s level degree in the IT field combined with managerial knowledge – for example an MBA in IT, will increase your chances to stand out from all the other “IT specialists” emerging quickly and have a huge impact on your salary level.

There is a difference between degrees and education institutes as well. If you are interested in gaining an excellent education, perhaps an internationally recognized degree of MBA in IT in abroad, it might be difficult for you to find the right university, get a student VISA and objective information about living in the country of your choice.

OIBT - Om Institute of Business & Technology will help you out with all of your concerns in addition to giving you excellent education whether you choose to study in India or somewhere else.

After finishing the first semester in India, OIBT campuses, while all your paperwork for studying abroad will be taken care of by OIBT, one can directly go abroad to pursue the rest of his international degree. There are two countries - UK and Malaysia which one can choose from. OIBT’s partner university abroad is Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) – the pioneer of merging eastern and western traditions and knowledge. LUCT provides high quality education with international recognization. One will gain an MBA degree within a year and a half from there.

LUCT’s programme teaches students about various problems that arise in computing and information technology, and enables them to come up with methods and technologies for solving them. With this programme, one will learn about programming, multimedia usage in computer programming, related theoretical and technical knowledge and the emergence of the Internet. The other big part of the course concentrates on giving management, HR-related and marketing knowledge which all become handy in every single field of business. It will also induce individual development including presentation and public relations skills.

There are also ways to gain dual degrees within 1,5-2 years, recognized in India and the rest of the world with an option of gaining a Post Study Work visa in the UK where career options are even better.

Education in India – a Right or a Privilege?

Child education in India is complusory. Yet still about 35% of the population is illiterate. Even though three Indian higher education institutes were listed in Times Higher Education world’s top 200, and several other institutes and universities are highly recognized in the whole world, only 7% graduate from high school which is ironically good, because there is no room for the rest of high school graduates in the colleges anyway. Nevertheless, India's higher education system is the third largest in the world, after China and the United States.

Even though government educational bodies like UGC and AICTE are trying their best to keep track of the quality of education offered in the thousands of higher education institutes in India, it is still a struggle, because the quality varies a lot. There are too many colleges and institutes out there without any recognition or affiliations just taking  money from students, but offering nothing in return.

But not everything about education in India is negative. India has made a huge progress when it comes to increasing attendance rate on primary education level and literacy rates. This is considered to be one of the main reasons of India’s raising economy and a change is certainly coming. Government is trying hard on every level to educate its people and the numbers are improving even though it is hard to implement all the new rules and regulations on a country with more than a billion inhabitants.

Even though most of Indian higher education institutes are government controlled, more and more private institutes are emerging. One can find endless opportunities for studying, but it might be difficult to choose a suitable college or a speciality. Most importantly, people in India take education as an investment in the future – a guarantee of getting a good job. Therefore, it is really important to get into a good college.

While the most popular field of studies is engineering, many higher education aspirants are also pursuing degrees in management. Indian Institute of Management has obtained such a level of excellence that people from all over the world come here to study and there is a huge competition for admission in IIMs. But IIM is not the only good management school in India.

OIBT – Om Institute of Business & Technology is an innovative management institute in Gujarat offering nationally and internationally recognized degrees on undergraduate and postgraduate levels with the opportunities of studying in India only or partially abroad and getting a dual degree in the same time as a single degree is awarded commonly. It has campuses all over Gujarat and is already spreading to other states as well. Being still a quite new institute it comes with a strong background, being a part of Om International Group which has provided student visas for ambitious young people wishing to study abroad for almost a decade. Now being affiliated with excellent educational institutes all over the world, OIBT is proud to be able to be a part of the actual educating process for the first time and hopes to take the education in India to the next level so that education being a right in India would not be just true on paper.

One can say that a company owes its success to its employees. Without having an excellent team working together for the same goal, one just cannot succeed. This is why human resources management is so important. The human resources department will be responsible for the process of recruiting new employees for the various departments of the company. The other important role of HR management is to discipline employees and take care of their needs. As a company grows bigger and needs to have professionals measuring up to their expectations, the general role of HR management and the existence of excellent HR professionals in the company becomes essential.

The MBA in HR study programme is designed to meet the needs of very different businesses. Students will learn the concepts and acquire the skills for making the most out of the company’s human resources. The topics studied are such as training and development, strategic staffing, labour and employment law, managing organisational change, compensation and benefits, as well as leadership and team building.

In addition, students will also learn a lot about the human resource issues triggered by technology and the international business environment, how to apply the knowledge as a human resource manager or personnel officer in business and public organisations, how to help organisations to increase employee efficiency and productivity with successful human resource programmes. All the knowledge gained by an MBA in HR will help students to be more aware of the challenges that face global businesses and enable them to develop the tools, competencies, and broadened minds needed to meet the challenges.

For those with a serious interest in gaining an MBA in HR we suggest an innovative institute called OIBT - Om Institute of Business & Technology which supplies you with several opportunities: a single degree and a dual degree. First, you will study in India at OIBT campus for 6 months. During that all your paperwork for going to study abroad will be taken care of by OIBT. After finishing the first semester in India, you will directly go abroad to pursue the rest of your international degree. There are three countries, UK, Malaysia, and India which you can choose from.  OIBT’s partner university abroad is Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. LUCT provides high quality education with international recognization. You will gain an MBA degree within a year and a half. MBA Courses in Gujarat Are the Favourite of Graduates

An MBA e.g. Master of Business Administration with all kinds of specialisations has become a very popular course of studies in India. Everybody is either doing an MBA or at least knows a dozen of people who hold an MBA degree. There are more than fourty institutes offering MBA courses in only Gujarat, India; but merely a couple of them award internationally recognized degrees. A UGC approved degree is a great optionfor those dreaming of a government job in India, but for working abroad one needs a internationally known and recognized degree.

Most common specialisations of MBA courses in Gujarat and India in general are finance, marketing, human resources management and information systems. Since everyone is doing these courses the demand of MBA graduates has gone down drastically and so have the salaries. So what is the way out of this dilemma? Is there any way to still have a successful career in management? How can one stand out from the crowd?

Perhaps an international degree could help and maybe studying abroad is the solution, but then again, many Indians are going abroad to study already. When coming back they face an unexpected obstacle – they are told that they surely have great theoretical knowledge or even international working experience if they are lucky, but none of them knows how business is done in India.  It is the the other way around for people who have done their MBA in India: they have no idea how business is done in the rest of the world.

There is a new option arising: pathway programmes. OIBT – Om Institute of Business & Technology is the first MBA institute in Gujarat offering its students theoretical knowledge and work experience at both Indian and international level  through its innovative pathway programmes. Hereby, the first part of studies takes place in India while the second part of study can be completed at several renowned universities and colleges around the world.  Also in India, students get to choose their study location and preferred timings. The flexibility of OIBT’s MBA courses allows its students to work during their studies which implies a competitive advantage for the students. It is logical and understandable that employers prefer people with the freshest knowledge combined with work experience, which most graduates do not have.

Students wanting to stand out should consider pathway programmes as this concept offers only advantages: practice and theory on an international level at a very affordable price as well as international network that students create when going abroad and which one cannot buy.

MBA in Multimedia – Hard to Find, Easy to Obtain

If MBA specialisations in finance, marketing and human resource management are widely spread and very popular all over the world then one can only find a handful of colleges/institutes that teach MBA in Multimedia.

According to Wikipedia multimedia is media and content that uses a combination of different content forms. The term is used in contrast to media which only use traditional forms of printed or hand-produced material. Multimedia includes a combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactivity content forms. Multimedia is usually recorded and played, displayed or accessed by information content processing devices, such as computerised and electronic devices, but can also be part of a live performance. Multimedia (as an adjective) also describes electronic media devices used to store and experience multimedia content.
Nowadays when multimedia’s importance has become unquestionable and companies invest billions of dollars in staying up to date with multimedia’s latest opportunities, the demand for multimedia professionals has become outrageous. Every modern company wants to have a decent webpage, blog, accounts on different social media portals, participate in group discussions on different forums etc, but most businessmen lack of time and skills to do it themselves. Not keeping up with the competition is just not affordable anymore if a company wants to survive in today’s highly-competitive world.

On the other hand, there are already so many people studying information techonology, but they lack the knowledge of marketing. Just knowing the technical stuff unfortunately will not help a company sell its products. Therefore some managing and marketing knowledge becomes essential. All that is achievable with OIBT-s new innovative MBA in Multimedia course, taught in co-operation with Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) which is recognized all over the world. One will easily get an international degree and study experience plus practical knowledge to boost one’s career – maybe already while studying due to the flexibility of the course schedule.

MBA in Marketing – irresistable with its promises of glamour

Education in marketing combined with business managing knowledge seems to be the thing that both – youngsters and employers – are looking for right now. MBA in Marketing attracts people like sweets attract flies. All the glamour, surrounding this field of work - media, flashlights, travelling, event planning, fancy promotional parties with expensive champagne and a-level celebrities. Isn’t that what everybody imagines when thinking of a marketing career?

Career pathways are variable – one can specialise in advertising, branding, event management, communication or even research. One way or another, marketing has become a crucial function for successful businesses on the 21st century. Just selling something successfully without any marketing because it is good, hardly ever works anymore. The competition on every field of business has become ruthless. Only the best companies survive - the one’s that combine good products with excellent marketing and find a target group to whom successfully sell those to.

Still, it is hard to stand out from the crowd and not all the marketing graduates get to experience the glamour and success of this field of work. Not even with marketing degrees and experience. There are so many marketing professionals out there already and there aren’t enough good positions for all of them. One way to excel is to go after a master’s degree – for example a MBA in Marketing - and specialise in-depth on one subject. Another one is to find a great education provider with excellent reputation, in best case – one that gives you practical training as well. Maybe studying abroad will help one arise above its competitors? Or a dual degree?

All of these will surely be helpful, but one’s personality, social skills and innovativeness still play the biggest role in developing a successful career. If you still think that marketing is the right speciality for you, better find the place and the people who can provide you with practical knowledge, challenge you and your mind, push you hard, make you see the big picture and teach you to adapt to different cultures and situations. Make sure you know who are the people teaching you and what kind of subjects are covered by your chosen course. Also, how are the previous graduates of your course doing. Talk to your friends and family, discuss your ideas with already working professionals and very important – make sure that the education you will get is worth the time and the money spent. Also, the study climate is very important. Find a place where you feel supported and comfortable. There are numerous choices for studying marketing in the world so there is no reason why you should settle for anything but perfect for you.

OIBT – Om Institute of Business & Technology is an innovative higher education provider in Gujarat, India which aims to offer the best solutions for all ambitious youngsters. Postgraduate education in India becoming a must to make a career

Postgraduate education in India is becoming more popular every year. There are more than 300 university-level institutions in India which over 17000 colleges affiliated to them. Due to the obligation of meeting the requirements of  the national level statutory bodies established for the maintenance of quality standards in higher education system, universities / institutions offering professional and technical courses in India are recognized worldwide. That is why over 200 of the Fortune 500 companies recruit from Indian campuses regularly.

Indian higher education institutes are divided into four groups – central government regulated universities, state government regulated universities, institutes with standards equivalent to universities’ and inter-university research centres shared by several universities – all of them generally using English as a Medium of teaching. There are universities specialising on medicine, arts and language, journalism, social work, business, commerce, planning, architecture, engineering, etc. Postgraduate education in India usually means taught master’s courses which generally last two and research courses which last three years.

The most popular master’s level course is Master of Business Administration with its common specialisations in human resources management, marketing, finance and information systems. An MBA is a vital course ment to guide how to manage different businesses and their various segments in a competent manner. Today, India has 600 institutes offering programmes in management only. One of the most prestigious institute which branches are all over India is the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs). All management colleges/institutes in India are recognised and regulated by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), a statutory body of Government of India.

Since the options of studying in India are practically unlimited, it is important that a student aspiring a quality education does lots of research before deciding on what to spend his/her money, because this is a very important investment for the future. One should make sure that he/she has found a suitable course that lives up to his/her expectations.

The most important criterias for choosing a study programme are that it really teaches the things one wants to learn and also how to apply them in practice; that the education meets international requirements and is on one hand as broad-based as possible but on the other, as a postgraduate degree makes student comprehend one’s chosen specialisation on an expert’s level and most importantly, is interesting for the student. It is obvious that no-one wants to waste their time and money on studying something useless.

A great way to gain a practical broad-based education is choosing a pathway programme taught partially in India and partially abroad. This way a students gains a good understanding of his/her speciality and the environment-based demands as well gets the priceless experience of spending some time studying abroad amongst people with very different backgrounds. OIBT, an Indian higher education institute is offering great internationally recognized twinning programmes for postgraduates with various specialisations otherwise not found in India. With OIBT one can study specialised management or computer sciences and spend a part of their studies in UK, Malaysia or Sweden.

Students now gain more by gaining foreign degrees in India

Foreign degrees in India are becoming more reachable day by day. Nowadays more and more universities want to expand to India due to the huge market and demand for higher education there. Still only 7% of the population goes after a tertiary degree and the government is trying hard to raise the number up to 15% at least in the next five years.

Indian government wants to offer its people a more affordable way to gain a quality education in India and this way keep the sophisticated people with their money in the country. Also the people are starting to value education more and try hard to be able to afford going to good schools.

But right now there is a huge gap in the market – there are people who want to study, government who wants to educate but not enough universities to fullfill the market demand. The government has found a solution in opening doors to international universities offering foreign degrees in India, but the door is still half open. The new regulations are tough and it is not sure that the good universities will find the opportunity to expand to India attractive enough. On the other side, this means that one can count on the quality of the education provided.

Despite the strict regulations, some universities and colleges have taken the risk and are offering programmes taught all the way in India or partially abroad through twinning programmes. This means that some of the studies are conducted in India, but not all, so students get an Indian and an international study experience and international degrees.

Om Institute of Business & Technology (OIBT) in Gujarat state has both options for its students. Whether one decides to complete studies in India, United Kingdom, Malaysia or Sweden – all options are providing excellent education, foreign degrees in India, a chance to get to know the best practices in India and abroad and therefore preparing students to work later whereever they choose to.

OIBT which is quickly expanding all over India is also offering dual degrees which are recognized by the Indian government and also by most other countries to make the list of career options for future graduates even longer. Actually there are no obstacles why OIBT’s students shouldn’t be able to launch their career while still studying due to the flexibility of the programmes. Not many other universities and institutes can claim that their students are able to work while studying full time. OIBT’s management on the other hand claims to believe in applying theoretical knowledge in practice since day one and helps their students out by granting the first job opportunity themselves.

All in all, international universities with their foreign degrees are starting to take over India and students can only gain from that. Whether one decides to study abroad or get his foreign degree in India, he will have the satisfaction in knowing that the whole world is open to him after.

MBA Colleges in Gujarat Are Starting to Look Exactly Alike

An MBA e.g. Master of Business Administration with all kinds of specialisations has become a very popular course of studies in India. Everybody is either doing an MBA or at least knows a dozen of people who hold an MBA degree. There are more than fourty MBA colleges in only Gujarat, India; but merely a couple of them award internationally recognized degrees. A UGC approved degree is a great optionfor those dreaming of a government job in India, but for working abroad one needs a internationally known and recognized degree.

Most common MBA specialisations in MBA colleges in Gujarat and India in general are finance, marketing, human resources management and information systems.

OIBT – Om Institute of Business & Technology is the first higher education institute in Gujarat offering its students theoretical knowledge and work experience at both Indian and international level  through its innovative pathway programmes. Hereby, the first part of studies takes place in India while the second part of study can be completed at several renowned universities and colleges around the world.  Also in India, students get to choose their study location and preferred timings. The flexibility of OIBT’s programmes allows its students to work during their studies which implies a competitive advantage for the students.

Management and MBAs

Management is traditionally divided into six categories – human resource management, operations management, strategic management, marketing management, financial management and information technology management. Nowadays it has become more mixed and it is hard to distinguish these categories.

Management consists of planning the future and actions to be taken, organizing work to achieve maximum results according to the plans, recruitment and job analyzing, leading and delegating assignments to the right people, controlling and monitoring all processes and motivating the employees to be the best they can when it comes to work.

Nowadays many schools are offering management aspirants proper formal education which helps them a lot in their work compared to the past times when everybody had to waste time and money on learning through their own mistakes and previous experiences. These days learning from other people’s experience has become possible by various management courses offered by business schools. One of the most popular management courses is Master of Business Administration which is well-known recognized all over the world.

MBA – Master of Business Administration degree was invented by Harvard Business School, Harvard University in 1921. They were the first to start teaching comprehensive management theories. General MBA concentrates on accounting, marketing, management and human resources. Some MBA programs focus also on some distinctive subjects. Usually MBA is a two year course, but some programs also last one to one and a half years.

Nowadays MBA is required from most people who are working in management positions, because market demands well-educated and sophisticated leaders who have a clear consciousness of economy and their field of work as well as managing many different functions and people. Also in today’s competitive world it is necessary to stand out and a good, well-educated leader gives a company a huge advantage in front of other companies with weaker managements. Since companies keep expanding and huge companies are taking over the world it is a struggle for new and smaller companies. That’s also when strong management becomes essential. Today’s managers must be visionaries and trend setters who can see ahead of the competitors and always stay a few steps ahead by excellent planning and organizing, innovation and a way of seeing the big picture.

MBA is also a great way to improve the quality of your life due to the earnings that MBA graduates on management positions make. A recognized and approved degree like this will help a student to fullfill his/her dreams in whatever part of the world he/she desires. With proper education nowadays there are no borders. You yourself can decide what is possible and go after your dreams.
