M.B.A. is an intensive programme which provides comprehensive and practical knowledge of today’s competitive business environment to students. M.B.A. deals about management studies and activities and teaches how to handle the business. This course is for 2 years to complete graduation which is affiliated to LIMKOKWING UNIVERSITY OF CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY, UNITED KINGDOM. The students are not only given theoretical knowledge but also imparted with the practical i.e., Industrial Visit, which is very essential for the overall development of the student.
As an industrial visit we all students of M.B.A. 1st semester of O.I.B.T. gone through to OM CONTAINERS PVT. LTD. & also to PARTH ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING PVT. LTD. 
                        The main objective of such Industrial visit is to acquaint the student with the industrial background and guide the student. It helps the student in developing the ideas about the various departments of industries such as production, Marketing, Human resource, Finance etc. This industrial visit increases the skill, attitude and abilities of the student.
                        This type of industrial visit provide a base to the student when after completing the studies he/she goes for a job and handle a business, then he/she finds himself/herself familiar to the company environment and so can do their job easily.
                        This report consists information about Marketing Research of ZANDU PHARMACEUTICAL WORKS LIMITED. In our group assignments our topic of preparing report is Marketing Research.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF COMPANY
                               
In the 18th century a Philanthropist & famous Ayurvedic physician from Jamnagar (District of Gujarat-India) was popular by his nickname “ZANDU”. Zandu owes its origin to him.
                        In 1864, he established a “RASA SHALA” to manufacture products for his personal practice. According to the tenets of Ayurveda, which deals with the fundamental principle in nature that underlies the creation & preservation & restoration of health and the promotion of longevity. His grandson SHRI JUGATRAM VAIDHYA, inspired by the rich tradition decided to start a pharmacy to manufacture & market Zandu’s natural herbal products.
                        Shri Pattani & Mr. Mathuradas Parikh assisted him. So, in October, 1910 in Mumbai Zandu Pharmaceutical was established. Since, Zandu signify an Ayurvedic healthcare remedy which means Quality. The success comes in the first 9 years necessitated immediate extension of production capacity. Zandu went to public in 1919 with the insurance of stocks.
                        Today Zandu is a multi-product entity, comprising a group of companies. In recent years Zandu becomes a company whose plants are located all over the home country.

Research is a process of collecting, recording and analyzing of any problem. It indicates scientific investigation of a problem.

*   The concept of Marketing Research:-

Marketing research is a big and wide concept compare to marketing and research’s concepts. Marketing research is the systematic collection, recording and analyzing of data about any particular problems connected with market. Such as problems related to product, price, promotion and distribution of marketing mix.
Marketing research is like a activity or a process we not only do survey but also try to find out their solution related to the problem and after it to make decision and solving the problem.







MARKETING RESEARCH PROCESS
The marketing research is a step by step process, means in marketing research we have to go through the different activity but must go through it in sequence. The good marketing research involves the mainly six step or activity to find out the problem and solving it. The marketing research process is as under…..





Step 1: Define the problem and the research objectives
            In this step of marketing research process we have to find out the problem and understand that problem and try to clarify the problem. After that we have to final research objectives like what is to be researched? & Why it is to be done? By this we can proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Develop the research plan
In this second step of marketing research we have to develop the good plan for collection of necessary information or data. This step involves decisions taken on data resources, sample plan. In data resources we can use primary data or secondary data as per our convenience.
Step 3: Collect the information
            This is the main step of marketing research process. Collection of information or data is generally expensive to everyone and we have to make sure that collected information or data should be true. Because if any problem will accrue or mismanagement is done then in next step major problem will be arise.
Step 4: Analyze the information
In this step, after collecting the information and data, the researcher will analyze the collected data and information. After analyzing information the researcher may apply some stastical methods so that he/she can get perfect information needed.
Step 5: Present the findings
In this step of marketing research process, the researcher presents the whole research work and analyzed data and information to the top level management. By using that they can easily take the decision for the problem.
Step 6: Make the decision
In this last step of marketing research the managers who are taking the decision, they finally decided that whether use the findings or not. In this step final decision is to be made.
